Liverpool are without a doubt one of the strongest teams in the Premier League this season and they have been tipped by many to challenge Manchester City in the fight for the title.

The Reds have spent a substantial amount of money in the transfer market this summer bringing in players like Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker. But as things stand the Merseyside outfit might struggle to hold onto some of their key players.

According to reports, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson does not want to sign a new contract at the club.

Liverpool paid a fee of around £10 million to Hull City for the services of Andy Robertson last summer and after the fine performances that the 24-year-old belted out during the 2017-18 season, that transfer fee looks pretty nominal.

So it would have been a real no-brainer that Liverpool would try and provide a new contract to Andy Robertson.

But as things stand the player is not signing a new deal – or so it was being believed.

Now though it seems that this statement is not the full truth as latest reports claim that Liverpool have not yet begun any talks with the players over a contract extension.

Andy Roberston still has three years left on his current deal – with an option to extend for a further year so clearly, Liverpool are in no rush to shove a new contract up his throat.

After having a tough start to his Liverpool career last season, the left-back went on to play 22 games in the Premier League and this campaign he is sure to be a first team regular under Jurgen Klopp.
