Liverpool swept away Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

After starting the season on the back foot, Mo Salah has found his form once again and the Egyptian scored a brace at Anfield on Wednesday while Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino each scored a goal.

Roberto Firmino opened the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute and then it was Mo Salah who added the second four minutes before the second half.




Salah was on target again this time from the penalty spot in the 51st minute and finally, it was Sadio Mane who wrapped up a fine day by scoring the fourth goal for Liverpool ten minutes before the final whistle.




While the match was a walk in the park for Jurgen Klopp and his team but the authorities at Anfield had a nightmare while preparing for the game.




90 minutes before the match was scheduled to kick off some parts of Anfield experienced a power cut and immediately there were reports that the match might be cancelled.

But the management was quick to respond that only some parts of the stadium had experienced the power cuts but the rest of the stadium was perfectly fine.








The club said: “We’re currently experiencing some issues with the power supply to the Main Stand at Anfield.

“All other stands are open and operating as normal. Some facilities in the Main Stand will be affected. Supporters can enter the stadium as normal.”




Liverpool also played the game with no away fans since Red Star Belgrade were not allowed to bring in their away fans due to a sanction from UEFA.
