Arsenal wish to sign a new central midfielder in the summer and according to journalist Dean Jones, the Gunners are looking at Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as one of the options.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has come up through the ranks at Leicester City and this season, the central midfielder is doing really well in the Championship. In 29 league appearances, the 25-year-old has scored 10 and assisted 10 goals for the Foxes.

The Gunners are prioritising the signing of a new central/defensive midfielder in the summer and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the names that’s being discussed.

Jones has recently said: “Dewsbury-Hall, a player that’s creative, definitely somebody that I could see that would be on their radar. I know for a fact that as well as being open to signing a new striker, they also feel like they might need another wide player.

“I think a creator like Dewsbury Hall who can be versatile and who can bring a spark to games. It’s not very often these players become available. I don’t think he’d be top of Arsenal’s list to be honest, but he’s certainly somebody that would fit what they’re trying to do under Arteta.”

Thomas Partey will leave at the end of this season and Arsenal are drawing a long list of probable replacements. Apart from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the North London side are also keeping tabs on players like Martin Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz and Amadou Onana.

Dewsbury-Hall is tied with Leicester City until 2027 and his current market value is €30 million which means he can be a budget signing but we doubt if Arsenal will shy away from spending money in the summer.

The Gunners did not spend a dime in January which indicates that Mikel Arteta will be given a larger transfer kitty at the end of this season.

Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz are at the top of the Gunners’ wishlist which means Arsenal are ready to splash around €60-70 million on a new central midfielder.

Dewsbury-Hall has played two Premier League campaigns with Leicester and both of them had been mediocre. It’s at the Championship that the midfielder is showing his skills so obviously Arsenal will have doubts about whether the England international can do well in the top flight alongside players like Odegaard and Declan Rice.

The Leicester man is very clearly towards the bottom of the list and only once Arsenal miss out on the bigger names, will they shift their focus to Dewsbury-Hall.
