Sooner or later, Real Madrid are going to wrap up the signing of Kylian Mbappe and after that, Ancelotti is reportedly keen on bringing in Erling Haaland from Manchester City.

The forward has taken the Premier League by storm since joining from Dortmund but recent reports in Spain had been claiming that the forward is not happy with life at the Etihad Stadium and so he wishes to leave in the summer.

Pep Guardiola publicly came out to squash these rumours just a few days ago and now, as per a report by Football Insider, Erling Haaland does not wish to leave.

The Norwegian is happy playing under Pep Guardiola and even the Citizens are confident of holding onto him beyond the summer.

This decision will be a big positive for the Manchester City fans but the club’s management won’t be able to still with folded hands because of a certain clause in Haaland’s deal.

The forward’s contract has separate release clauses for clubs in England and those outside the country. While clubs in England will have to shell out around €200 million to sign him, Real Madrid and other non-English clubs have the chance to sign him for around €100 million.

This clause is a double-edged sword for Man City which is why they will be eager to hold talks over a new and improved deal.

Haaland’s representatives feel their client would have won the 2023 Ballon d’Or had he been playing for Real Madrid which is why many experts believe he will look to head to the Bernabeu in the summer.

Man City are confident they won’t lose Erling Haaland during the upcoming summer window but because Madrid are going to save a lot of money by getting Mbappe as a free agent, the Los Blancos will definitely try and make a move.

Now, it will all depend on Erling and his father on whether they see an imminent move to Spain as a necessity or do they wish to remain in Manchester for a couple of more years. Haaland won the English treble with City last season and if the Cityzens can achieve a similar feat this campaign as well then the 23-year-old will definitely look for a fresh challenge.
