Arsenal and Man United lost out on the top-four spot last season and will now be plying their trade in the Europa League while Chelsea get to play in the Champions League.

But once again, these three teams will fight it out for one Champions League spot assuming that Spurs, Man City and Liverpool make up the top-three of the Premier League.

While most people believe the Blues will have a major advantage but according to Martin Keown, Unai Emery could help Arsenal get ahead of their rivals in the top-four race.

Here’s how:

“We saw last season that Emery had taken Arsenal up the ladder a little bit and fourth place looked a real possibility,” he told football.london.

“I don’t feel this year that the top four positions are cemented. Fourth place is definitely vulnerable.

“I say that because Chelsea have what we expect to be an outstanding manager but one where nevertheless no-one knows how that journey is going to go. He’s a novice, new to this situation.

“The same is true for Solskjaer really. He lost that consistency with the players after a very good start.

“In the shape of Emery Arsenal have a much more experienced manager. Chelsea have lost one or two players. There’s comings and goings at United, huge pressure for them.

“Arsenal could steal a march but is the balance in the team for them? I would question that.

“Away from home was the Achilles heel last year and the year before. When Arsenal win at home we learn nothing there. We’ll learn when Arsenal win away from home if they can really challenge at the top of the table.”
