Arsenal take on Newcastle United this weekend in the Premier League and their manager has been currently sweating over the injuries to Sead Kolasinac and Bukayo Saka.

Summer signing Kieran Tierney has been ruled out for the next couple of months with a dislocated shoulder meaning Sead Kolasinac was Arteta’s only certain choice for the left-back role.

But the Bosnian too injured himself and has been spending a couple of weeks on the sidelines during which time, winger Bukayo Saka has been filling up at left-back.

Then the youngster too picked up an injury while playing against Burnley away from home and this was now a serious problem for the manager.

It was still unsure whether either one of them would have been fit to feature against the Magpies but now the club have confirmed that both the players are available for selection this weekend.

The injury updates as provided by the club’s official website:

Sead Kolasinac
Available for selection following left thigh strain.

Bukayo Saka
Available for selection after being substituted during Burnley (a) following knock to right leg.

The return of the duo is surely a huge boost for Mikel Arteta since he can finally name his strongest backline after some time.

But with Sead Kolasinac now available for selection, Bukayo Saka will most certainly not find a place in the starting line-up. At best, he remains on the bench and comes on during the second half.
