Arsenal took on Manchester City away from home in the Premier League on Wednesday and they suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss on a rain-soaked pitch.
City showed their class during the match but the three-points came at a cost for the Citizens as their young defender Eric Garcia was stretchered off the pitch after a nasty Collison with his own keeper Ederson Moraes.
Arsenal also suffered a dual injury blow as Granit Xhaka and defender Pablo Mari were both taken off within the first 25 minutes of the match.
And here are the updates on all the three injured players.
Eric Garcia:
Ederson collided with Garcia as he came to clear a forward ball and as a result of this incident, the defender had to be taken off after an extensive treatment on the pitch.
Speaking after the match, Pep Guardiola confirmed that the injury was not too serious but further tests were required to access the full damage.
“We are concerned about Eric of course. He is conscious but I think he is going to be tested tonight because a kick in the head is always so dangerous,” Guardiola said, via MEN.
Ederson also posted a picture on social media which shows Eric Garcia in good health.

Granit Xhaka:
The Swiss midfielder seemingly twisted his ankle pretty early on during the game and had to be stretchered off within seven minutes.
Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta failed to provide any major details of the injury saying: “They[Mari and Xhaka] are getting assessed at the moment then we will know something more tomorrow morning.”

The injury does not seem too serious but the way Xhaka had to be taken off the pitch, we are pretty sure the midfielder is set to miss the next few matches for Arsenal.
Pablo Mari:
Pablo Mari seemed to pick up a calf injury during the first half of the game and like Xhaka he also had to be helped off the pitch(not on a stretcher).
And speaking on the loanee’s injury, the Arsenal boss hinted that his injury could be on the more serious side.
He added: “Pablo’s one didn’t look very good to be fair.”
The centre-back will miss Arsenal next Premier League game vs Brighton this weekend which is a major headache for Mikel Arteta since David Luiz has also picked up a red card.
