Arsenal crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday after losing in the quarter-finals to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhites scored two goals on the night with the first coming from Son Heung Min in the 20th minute and the second one from Dele Alli right before the hour mark.

This win for Pochettino’s men was a serious blow for Arsenal especially since Unai Emery had chosen to field a pretty strong side against their arch-rivals.

The likes of Lucas Torreira, Guendouzi and Aubameyang all featured in the starting line up while Alexandre Lacazette came on as a substitute.

But there was one man who was nowhere to be seen.

We are talking about Mesut Ozil who has been almost non-existent for the Gunners during the past couple of months.

The forward was suffering from a back spasm but after fully recovering everyone expected him to feature in the starting XI in midweek.

But clearly, Unai Emery had other plans.

And former Arsenal man Ian Wright feels that it is high time that Arsenal sort out this problem regarding Mesut Ozil.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Wright said, “We’ve got to find out what’s going on with Ozil. He wasn’t in the squad again. Is he ill? What’s wrong? We need to know because I’m going to be completely honest with you Arsenal fans, we can’t afford to carry that kind of weight in terms of wages.

“We need to find out what’s going on with our star player, is he staying, is he going? Is he leaving in January? Is he in the manager’s plans? It doesn’t look like it.”

Are Wednesday’s game it is pretty clear that Mesut Ozil does not have a future at Arsenal under Unai Emery and it will be sensible for both parties that the German moves out of the club – possibly during the January transfer window.
