Liverpool have shown a keen interest in signing Bukayo Saka from Arsenal during the upcoming transfer window – as per various rumours.

Saka has been a constant figure in Arsenal’s back-line during the ongoing season and thanks to him, the Gunners have not felt the absence of left-backs like Sokratis and Kieran Tierney. As per some reports, Jurgen Klopp has been really impressed with the 18-year-old and wants to bring him to Anfield for the upcoming season.

The player is out of contract next year and Arsenal are trying hard to make him agree to a new deal but so far the player has not shown positive signs. But according to former England keeper Paul Robinson, the youngster should snub a move to Liverpool and remain at Arsenal.

“A top player. I have seen him a few times and Arsenal will do all that they can to renew his contract,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“Liverpool are trying to muscle in there and take him because he is 18 and has already made 29 appearances this season. He is very good going forward.

“However, with [Mikel] Arteta at Arsenal, I think it could be more beneficial for the player to stay there.

“I doubt that he would get the same opportunities at Liverpool as an 18-year-old.

“For his development, it is worth staying at Arsenal for a while longer under a manager that is keen to promote youth.”

Should the Arsenal prodigy head for the exit?

Bukayo Saka has seen rapid progress at Arsenal this season and some pundits feel the youngster could become the first-choice left-back for Arsenal ahead of Kieran Tierney.

But if he was to move to Liverpool in the summer, the player will undoubtedly fall down the pecking order since not many people can push someone like Andy Roberston to the bench.

Saka can play in midfield as well but at Liverpool, that area of the pitch is also occupied by some fine talents which means he will have to start from scratch if he chooses to exit Emirates.

Arsenal are without a doubt nowhere close to challenging Liverpool for the Premier League title but at least in North London, the 18-year-old will get guaranteed game time under Mikel Arteta as the new Gunners boss has clearly grown a liking towards the England U19 international.
