Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League table with Liverpool breathing down their necks and next up, the Gunners travel to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp’s boys.

The Gunners have picked up 39 points from their first 12 league outings while Liverpool sit just one point behind them meaning if Arsenal cannot secure a win at the weekend they are at risk of sliding down from that top spot.

Arsenal have not tasted defeat against Liverpool in their previous two meetings and with the kind of form they are in right now, Mikel Arteta’s side are the slight favourites to win on Saturday. Last weekend, Manchester United successfully managed to blunt Liverpool’s attack which will give Arsenal a lot of hope of winning at Anfield.

Arsenal’s team news and injury updates:

Most of Arsenal’s injuries are long-term with players like Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira out of action for several weeks.

Jorginho sustained an ankle injury and his manager has admitted that the midfielder is a doubt for the weekend. With Jorginho, Vieira and Partey all ruled out, the midfielder trio will remain the same from the Brighton game.

Talking about his midfielders, the Arsenal manager has told the press: “Thomas Partey is still finalising his rehab. He still hasn’t trained with the team yet. For the rest, no news. Jorginho is still a doubt.”

Gabriel Jesus scored against the Seagulls and the Brazilian international will keep his place in the side which means Nketiah will start on the bench once again. Jesus has slowly crept back to prominence at Arsenal and in his previous six appearances, the striker has netted three times.

Unless there’s a late injury scare for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta is going to go with the same starting line up which won 2-0 vs Brighton in their previous league game.
