Arsenal are moving closer to the signing of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez(during the writing of this article).

The Gunners seem to have fended off competition from Chelsea to sign the Barcelona midfielder but the deal could come at a price for Unai Emery.

According to reports, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be on his way out of the club if and when Denis Suarez comes into the squad.

Suarez is coming into Arsenal(as reported) on a loan spell with an option to buy him permanently during the summer but Barcelona are more than willing to sell him off permanently this month.

We still do not know whether Unai Emery will be enticed to sign Denis Suarez on a permanent deal this month but in case it happens then Henrikh Mkhitaryan could try and find a new club at the end of the season.

The Armenian arrived at the Emirates in a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez and this season the midfielder has played 14 games in the Premier League scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Currently, he is sidelined with a metatarsal fracture and is expected to be out until the first week of February.

Denis Suarez operates in the same area as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and if the Barcelona can win over Unai Emery then the Armenian is sure to fall down the pecking order.

And many predict this will eventually happen since Emery has seen a lot of Suarez during his time at Sevilla.

On top of that, Emery had inherited Mkhitaryan from the previous manager while Denis Suarez is the manager’s personal choice.

This rumour is still in its initial stages and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could very well be part of Unai Emery’s plans next season but with the arrival of Denis Suarez, the Armenian will have to up his game.
