Arsenal named Unai Emery as their new boss during the summer and during the first few months of the new season, many could not stop praising the new boss.

But with each passing month, the manager’s aura at the Emirates has diminished and now with the whole Mesut Ozil scenario blowing up, many fans are confused about the influence that Unai Emery is having at the club.

The manager has not used the services of the German for a long time and most feel the boss wants to offload Ozil this month itself.

But according to former Gunner Paul Mariner, there are a lot of other things that Unai Emery has gotten wrong since his appointment.

“I’m dumbfounded why Arsenal would let [Alexis] Sanchez go. Sanchez, when I used to go to Arsenal to watch him play, he was phenomenal,” Mariner said on the ESPN podcast(as reported by Goal).

“It didn’t pan out so much for United but they let Sanchez go, they’re letting [Aaron] Ramsey go for nothing! What’s going on?

“And with Ozil, there’s something going on with Ozil that we don’t know about.

“Arsenal decided to put all their eggs in one basket with Ozil, right? But what’s Ozil done for the club? Absolutely zero! Zero.

“Yes, he’s a fantastic player, but he’s got to get fit. He’s never fit! There’s something going on with this kid that we don’t know about.”

The Gunners fans were hoping that their club would bring in some new signing during the January transfer window but Unai Emery has now come out to claim that the club do not have the necessary funds to bring in permanent signings so any new player will arrive only on loan spells.

And this has infuriated the fans ever more who have now directed their fury towards the Arsenal management for their failure to back the manager.
