Arsenal suffered a shocking loss at the hands of Leicester City in the Premier League two weeks ago and next up they entertain Southampton at home this weekend.

The Foxes outclassed Arsenal and ended up winning the match comfortably with a scoreline of 2-0. But many feel this game vs the Saints has come at an ideal time for Unai Emery since the visiting side have won just one out of their last six league matches.

Arsenal are currently in the sixth spot on the league table and have themselves failed to pick up a win in their last four outings. But still, we are pretty sure that they will be able to secure all three points given that the confidence of Southampton is at an all-time low.

But according to Michael Owen, a lot rests on Arsenal winning this encounter and has urged the players to treat this as a must-win.

The former Liverpool man explained how the North London side have continuously dropped points from winning points but still, they will be able to secure a win this weekend.

“Arsenal had just one shot on target in their latest league defeat on the road at the King Power Stadium and the Gunners have dropped points from winning positions in their last couple of games at the Emirates against Palace and Wolves,” wrote Owen for BetVictor.

“Unai Emery’s side start the day eight points off fourth place in the table and I think this is a must-win game for the Gunners’ boss given Saints sit just one point and one place off the foot of the table.

Tip: Arsenal -1.”

Unai Emery is under tremendous pressure to perform and multiple reports have claimed that the Arsenal management are willing to be tolerant until the start of next year.

But many pundits feel the manager needs to get things straight within the next few matches or he could be under serious danger of losing his job at the Emirates.
