Arsenal are planning to offload Mesut Ozil and it looks like Unai Emery wants Juan Mata in his place.

Yes, recent reports are suggesting that the Arsenal boss is keen to bring Juan Mata on board.

The Man United playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season and currently, there are no talks of renewing his deal.

While both the parties have shown no inclination towards ending the relationship but many feel that Juan Mata might not be handed a new deal since the club are looking to shed a lot of deadwood.

Juan Mata has so far played in 22 games for Man United in all competitions – scoring five goals and has featured heavily both under Mourinho as well as Solskjaer.

Under the caretaker boss though, starts have been hard to come by for the Spaniard but the boss has turned to him whenever the club have needed some creativity.

While it is not up to Solskjaer to decide whether Juan Mata will remain at the club or not but if sensibility prevails then even Unai Emery should not be signing the playmaker.

The Gunners boss is pushing out Mesut Ozil because needs players who can run and chase the ball constantly.

In Ozil, Unai Emery does not get that luxury but unfortunately, Juan Mata isn’t the paciest midfielder either.

Sure, the Spaniard will chase opponents but more often than not, Mata is left behind whenever opponents choose to accelerate.

This rumour is still in its initial stages and it is more or less certain that Juan Mata is not leaving Old Trafford this month since Solksjaer has already claimed that the club will not be offloading players in January.
