Arsenal manager Unai Emery is trying really hard to bring in a replacement for Aaron Ramsey during the summer transfer window.

The Welsh international would be leaving for free at the end of the season and the Gunners will have to pay money out of their own pockets in order to replace a top quality player.

And if reports are to be believed then Emery is trying to make a move for Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

Mateo Kovacic has played in 26 Premier League games this season out of which almost 50 per cent have been from the bench.

Kovacic is currently on a season-long loan spell from Real Madrid and Maurizio Sarri is eager to keep him at the club on a permanent basis.

That though would be easier said than done because Chelsea are currently amidst a transfer ban which prevents them from signing players on a permanent basis for the next two transfer windows.

And this is where Arsenal could win the race the sign Mateo Kovacic.

The midfielder still has a couple of years left on his Real Madrid deal but Zidane has made up his mind to offload him at the end of the season.

Arsenal have the money to buy and on top of that, they can also provide Mateo Kovacic with a regular place in the starting line up now that Ramsey will be leaving for Juventus.

It still remains to be seen what Chelsea are planning to with Mateo Kovacic given they cannot sign him permanently but Real Madrid wouldn’t mind selling him to either Chelsea or Arsenal.

And this gives up a feeling that the Los Blancos might just use this opportunity to jack up the price for Mateo Kovacic during the summer.
