Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Recent reports had claimed that Arsenal have offered a new deal to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is set to be a free agent next summer.

The report claims: “Arsenal have ‘offered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a contract extension’ and are attempting to ward off interest in their star striker with fresh terms.

“According to L’Equipe, the 30-year-old has received the offer of a contract extension at the Emirates.”

This was a piece of really bright news for the Gunners but now ESPN have shattered all hopes by insisting that the Gunners have not offered a contract to the Gabon international and that fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea are keeping tabs on the whole situation.

ESPN claim: “Arsenal have not yet offered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a new contract, sources have told ESPN, as speculation intensifies over his long term future at the club.

“Contrary to some media reports on Monday, there has been no extension on the table for Aubameyang to agree or reject. Chelsea are monitoring Aubameyang’s situation, sources have told ESPN, as they look for a new centre-forward.”

Will Aubameyang remain at Arsenal next season?

The Gunners manager would love to keep hold of Aubameyang beyond the summer but we doubt if the Gabon international will remain at the club.

Aubameyang wants a massive pay rise in his new contract which Arsenal are not ready to offer and this is the main indication that the forward is likely to leave at the end of the current season.

And this is great news for Chelsea who have been trying to bring in a new partner for Tammy Abraham during the upcoming transfer window.

Aubameyang Arsenal

The Gunners are not too keen to sell off their most prized asset to one of their direct rivals but with just one year left on his current deal, we do not think that Arsenal have the bargaining chip in their hands right now.

Arsenal will want to sell the Gabon international to a club outside of the Premier League but if Chelsea are willing to pay a bumper price for the 30-year-old, we doubt if the North London club will be able to reject the temptation.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Aubameyang over the past couple of weeks but Zinedine Zidane is yet to make a final call over the transfer.
