Arsenal are said to be interested in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as they continue their hunt for a new centre-forward.

The Gunners want an upgrade to Gabriel Jesus for the 2024/25 season and they are being linked with some of the top striking talents in Europe. Alexander Isak and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres are already on their radar and now it seems like they are keeping track of Benjamin Sesko as well.

Arsenal failed to sign any new players in January due to budget constraints but the club is ready to sell unwanted players like Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah to gather funds for their summer rehaul.

Can Benjamin Sesko be a better alternative to Viktor Gyokeres?

Benjamin Sesko is currently plying his trade for RB Leipzig and the young striker has scored 11 goals along with 2 assists in 34 league games for the club. These numbers can be a bit misleading because he mostly came off the bench at the start of the season and has only become a regular in the past couple of months.

He is contracted with Leipzig until 2028 and he has a release clause of just £43 million which makes him a very affordable target as compared to Gyokeres who has a £85 million release clause.

Arsenal scouts have also urged Mikel Arteta to sign the youngster and while the manager will most certainly be tempted to go after him we are certain that Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal’s priority number one.

Benjamin Sesko is one for the future but Arsenal will most likely sell both Nektiah and Gabriel Jesus at the end of the season so Arteta will have to bring someone who can make an immediate impact.

The Gunners won’t be going after Ivan Toney while Victor Osimhen will cost around £100 million so Gyokeres is their next best bet.

Obviously, Arsenal won’t be stuck on a single target which is why they are being linked with names like Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak but we are certain they will only go after them if they miss out on the Sporting CP sensation.
