Rangers FC have gone through a major overhaul during the summer under their new boss Steven Gerrard as the manager has been entrusted with bringing back the glory days at Ibrox.

Gerrard has made eleven signings during the summer transfer window and his last one being Croatia’s Borna Barisic.

Barisic was part of Croatia’s 32-man preliminary World Cup squad for Russia but unfortunately, he did not make the final cut. Despite this Steven Gerrard chose to splash £1.5million on the left-back after he impressed for Osijek during their Europa League encounters.

Rangers faced NK Osijek in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League a couple of weeks ago and Borna Barisic was easily the stand out performer for the Croatian side during both the legs.

And now that he has moved to Ibrox the 25-year-old has revealed his ultimate dream while playing under Steven Gerrard.

Borna Barisic said: “There are many differences between Rangers and Osijek, in the club and around the club. Games here are more aggressive, the football is more aggressive and I need to adapt to that part of the game.

“This is a great club and a very big club, I have some great teammates here and there are some great staff. Everyone has been brilliant to me so far and I am very happy.

“I spoke to Nikola Katic before I signed – he said the club is top, the boss is top, the staff are top, team-mates are top, fans are top and that everything is amazing.

“I don’t like to talk about the future but my mentality is that I always want to win, I want to win everything that we can and we need to train like this, play like this and that is the most important thing.

“Of course I hope playing here will help me with my national team, if I play well then I can of course get into the Croatia squad.”

Borna Barisic is expected to make it to the first eleven when Rangers play their first home game of the Scottish Premiership against St Mirren on Sunday.
