Chelsea and Bournemouth are negotiating a loan deal for 18-year-old defender Dujon Sterling – according to reports.

Sterling is rated very highly at Chelsea and the youngster has just signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2022. But it seems that the Blues are planning to send him out on loan – as they very often seem to do.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte currently has a lot of defenders amongst his first-team ranks and this is why it is almost impossible for Sterling to receive any proper game time during the current season.

So Chelsea are thinking of sending him out on loan during the January transfer window with a lot of clubs ready to sign him up until the end of the season. A string of Championship clubs want to sign the youngster but it looks as if Bournemouth will be Sterling’s preferred destination due to the prospect of playing in the top flight of English football.
