Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he had the coronavirus but has since recovered.

Up until now, everyone knew that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is the only English top-flight manager who had tested positive but now Brendan Rodgers has revealed otherwise.

Speaking to the BBC, the 47-year-old has admitted that it was a difficult battle for him as well as his wife but now he has recovered fully.

“I could hardly walk and it reminded me of walking up Mount Kilimanjaro,” he told BBC Radio Leicester.

“We had a week off when we were supposed to play Watford [14 March] and then the week after that, I started to struggle.

“For three weeks I had no smell or taste. I had no strength, and a week after, my wife was the same. We were tested and both of us were detected with the virus.

“It reminded me of when I climbed Kilimanjaro. The higher you went the more you suffered with acclimatisation and the harder it was to breathe,

“I remember trying to run for the first time [after becoming ill] and it was hard to go 10 yards. I had no real appetite and it was a weird sensation of eating food without ever tasting and smelling what it was.”

Thankfully Brendan Rodgers and his wife are now fine and he has even returned back to training with the Leicester City squad after following all the necessary tests and protocols.

Leicester City return back to action in the Premier League when they take on Watford in Matchday 30 at Vicarage Road.

Rodgers moved back to the Premier League in February of 2019 when he left Scottish side Celtic FC to take charge of Leicester City.
