Premier League side Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. But this interest was dealt with a serious blow a couple of days back when rumours claimed that Liverpool have also joined the race to sign the England international during the summer.
This season, Jadon Sancho has been in sublime form scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists in 27 Bundesliga matches so it’s no wonder that a club like Liverpool also want to sign him.
But this interest from Klopp and his side poses serious concerns for the Old Trafford outfit since they have been invested in this transfer for almost the whole season now.
Can Liverpool sign Jadon Sancho?
Liverpool are currently one of the best teams in European football so they can literally sign any player they want but as per an exclusive report in 90 Min, Manchester United are confident they will be able to secure this deal despite interest from their arch-rivals.
The report claims: “Manchester United remain confident that they will sign Jadon Sancho before next season, despite Borussia Dortmund’s attempts to tie the England forward down to a new contract.
“United, as previously reported, have been at the head of the queue for most of the past year. Though the coronavirus pandemic, suspension of football and subsequent financial impact has meant most of Europe’s big clubs are not looking to – or able to, in some cases – make massive transfer market statements in 2020.”
This is great news for all the Man United fans as Jadon Sancho is one of the top-rated youngsters in world football right now and he can be the perfect person to inherit the No 7 shirt at the club.
Liverpool will not want to give up too easily but we fear they do not have a choice primarily due to his huge transfer price tag.
Dortmund reportedly want somewhere around £100 million for the sale of the winger and we doubt if Liverpool can spend such an amount, more so if they get want to sign Timo Werner as well.
