The Champions League kicked off this week and with that, we got to saw a number of high profile games.
Italian giants Inter Milan took on Tottenham Hotspur while Lyon produced a huge upset beating Manchester City at the Etihad. But clearly, the most talked-about match this week was Liverpool’s 3-2 win over PSG.
And with the Champions League all set and rolling the debate of the Premier League vs La Liga has cropped up once again.
Both sets of fans have their valid arguments as to which league is better and why but now all of them have come together in order to laugh at PSG star Edinson Cavani.
PSG lost to Liverpool this week and it seems that Cavani is finding it hard to digest the defeat.
Talking to the reporters after the 3-2 loss Cavani claimed that the Ligue 1 was at par with the English Premier League and ever since this statement the fans have not been able to stop laughing.
“There are the best teams in Europe playing in the Champions League, and when you face them sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose,” he told reporters.
“I would like to see some teams from England playing in French football so we see how good they are.
“I wouldn’t disparage the French league, as France are the current world champions and many of their players are in Ligue 1.
“And French teams have been playing the later stages of the Champions League in the last few years, so I just think this is football, and it is what it is.”
And this has made Edinson Cavani the butt of all jokes amongst the fans.
