Liverpool striker Danny Ings is more or less certain to move out of the club during the summer transfer window and it seems that the number of clubs that want his is increasing day by day.

First, it was thought that Glasgow side Rangers were interested in signing up Ings as their new manager Steven Gerrard had seen the forward operate closely. The came reports of interest from other English clubs like Southampton and Crystal Palace.

Finally, it was Newcastle United who were linked with Danny Ings but now suddenly Celtic have been favourites to sign the 25-year-old.

Current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was the one who brought Danny Ings to Liverpool back in 2015 but the English International has failed to live up to the expectations at Anfield.

Two major knee injuries have halted the player’s career and during his three seasons at Liverpool, the 25-year-old has made only 25 appearances for the Reds.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not wish to part ways with the forward but the German has also made it clear that if Danny Ings wants to move out, the club will not stand in his way.

Up until now, the likes of Newcastle United and Rangers were the favourites to sign the forward but the odds of the Hoops signing the 25-year-old has been drastically cut off to just been cut to just 6/1.

The sudden emergence of Celtic as the favourites – leapfrogging over their Old Firm rivals has come as a shock to many especially after Brendan Rodgers had earlier claimed that his club is not too keen on bringing Danny Ings on board.

Rodgers had said: “Danny is a fantastic player and has been really, really unfortunate for a few years with injury but I have got the three strikers at the moment and we don’t need any more.

“We signed Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal and he is a class act. We also have Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths so with those three we are well covered.”
