Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane picked up an ankle ligament damage during the Lilywhites’ UCL clash vs Man City and the England international has been out of action ever since.

Up until now, there have been reports that Harry Kane might not be fit to take on Liverpool in the Champions League final.

But recently, the 25-year-old was named in an initial 27-man squad for England’s Nations League semi-final.

This immediately created a buzz that Harry Kane might very well be fit to play in Madrid since Gareth Southgate had taken the risk of naming him in the England squad.

Now though, Southgate has come out to claim that he is still unsure whether Harry Kane will be fit or not but believes Pochettino might not be too worried since the likes of Lucas Moura has been in fine form lately.

“Frankly, we will know a lot more about that if he is in Tottenham’s team,” Southgate said.

“…They might take a view that (Lucas) Moura scored a hat-trick (in the semi-final) and Son (Heung-min) played well so they keep Harry as an impact player.

“So without talking to Mauricio (Pochettino), I don’t know what his thinking on that will be. I guess that depends on how Harry trains in the build-up to the game.

“So no, I don’t think it is an absolute he has to play there or he is not ready four days later.

“Equally, he could play in the final and not be right four days later for us, we are just going to have to play it by ear because he is not going to have had a game prior to that point.

“Where there are one or two others we need to know a lot more about in the next week, he is one I will make an exception for in that I will see how it goes in the final week.”

Harry Kane will have to report for England just five days after the Champions League final which means that Gareth Southgate will be one nervous manager.

We believe that Pochettino will surely be thinking only about the Madrid game and even if there is a slight chance of him playing, the Spurs boss will surely take the risk.
