Chelsea suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands Roma in midweek where Conte’s men were outplayed at the Stadio Olimpico. And most pundits felt that after this defeat the door was quickly closing at the Italian’s managerial career at Chelsea.

But now the news around England is that the Chelsea management still have faith in their manager. The Blues board understands that Conte’s season has been plagued with numerous injuries to top players – as a result of which the title defence has not gone according to plans.

Conte has been constantly without important players with the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Alvaro Morata all fell prey to injuries at some point of the season. Morata picked up a hamstring injury during the match against City while both Hazard and Pedro had injury troubled during the summer.

Chelsea’s midfield engine N’Golo Kante is still recovering from a hamstring injury which he picked up during the last international duty and is still a doubt for the Man Utd clash during the weekend.

So clearly this Sunday’s match against Manchester United will be an acid test for Conte and if he fails to win this tie then the alarm bells will surely start ringing for the Italian and his Stamford Bridge career.
