Chelsea have a Premier League game this weekend taking on Brentford and several first-team players could return to action on Saturday.

Currently, the Blues have the longest injury list with more than half a dozen players missing but over the previous few weeks, a few important players have been seen training with the first-team squad.

Armando Broja missed the 2-2 draw vs Arsenal with a minor injury but the forward has reported back to Cobham and should be fine to play against the Bees this weekend.

Nicolas Jackson recovered from his wrist surgery and played a small part against Arsenal which means Mauricio Pochettino will have two options for his centre-forward’s position when the Bees come to Stamford Bridge.

Axel Disasi is another player who has been missing since the international break after he picked up a quadriceps injury during Chelsea’s win over Burnley. The defender made the bench in the Gunners game but will be in contention to start this weekend.

Along with Disasi, Benoit Badiashile also returned from injury and made it to the bench last weekend and he too will be pushing for a start. However, the centre-back has not featured under the new Chelsea manager due to his injury setback so there’s very little chance that he will be handed a start on Saturday.

Raheem Sterling played through the middle in the draw against Arsenal but now that Nicolas Jackson and Broja are back, one of them will lead the line this weekend allowing Sterling to move out wide. This will mean a slight reshuffle of the starting XI.

Apart from these three players, all the other injured players are ruled out and will not return anytime soon.

Christopher Nkunku suffered a knee injury back in August and he’s slowly getting back to full fitness. As per the reports, he is splitting his time between Paris and London to visit specialists and continue his rehab work so there’s major optimism that he is going to make a comeback before 2024.

Players who are going to be in the matchday squad vs Brentford:

Armando Broja, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.

Players who remain ruled out:

Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Romeo Lavia, Ben Chilwell and Chukwuemeka.
