Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Arsenal in the Premier League this week meaning they are now in serious danger of losing their Champions League spot.

The loss now means the likes of Manchester United and Sheffield United are breathing down their neck and if they cannot get their act together then the Blues might very well find themselves out of the top-four even before the end of this month.

Arsenal dug deep to pick up a point despite going down to 10 men even before the half-hour mark of the match, and this means they still maintain their place in the first half of the table.

But this poor show at home means Chelsea have now dropped points in three out of their past five league matches and it is only a matter of time before their closest rivals leap-frog over them.

And Willian understands this very well which is why he has urged his teammates to be careful or they might be plying their trade in the Europa League next campaign.

‘I think we have to be careful,’ he told The Mirror as quoted by The Daily Mail.

‘If we don’t then maybe at the end of the season we will be out of the top four. We have time, we have a five-point gap, so now it is time to improve.

‘I don’t know if it is concentration. We have to see what we can improve. We have to improve at home, and we have to be more stable, win more games.

‘To stay in the top four we have to win games, so now is the time to see which part of the game we have to improve.’

VERDICT:

Arsenal might be 10th on the league table but they are still alive in the Europa League so playing in the top-tier of Europe still remains a very strong possibility.

But for Chelsea, they will have to sweat it out in the Champions League this season and there’s very little chance that the will be able to win this crown. So if they wish to keep rubbing shoulders with the big boys then Frank Lampard will have to ensure that his players up their game and find a way to squeeze out positive results especially during tough situations.
