Chelsea got off to a winning start in the 2020/21 Premier League season, beating Brighton 3-1 at the Amex Stadium last weekend.

And next up, the Blues will have the task of stopping the Liverpool juggernaut at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Chelsea have won their last 6 home matches in the Premier League but picking up a win against Liverpool will be no easy task especially since Frank Lampard has a number of injury concerns to deal with.

Frank Lampard’s men will be high on confidence though especially after Liverpool conceded three goals against newly promoted Leeds United.

Chelsea team news vs Liverpool:

Kepa Arrizabalaga was under the scanner once again vs Brighton and some experts have claimed that the Spaniard could be benched on Sunday.

We don’t think that Lampard will want to make such a move especially since he is yet to bring in a new keeper(as of writing this article).

Thiago Silva should make his Premier League debut against Liverpool replacing Kurt Zouma while Antonio Rudiger should also come into the starting XI, after remaining on the bench last weekend.

Ben Chilwell is out with his ankle injury and will not be ready for the Liverpool game.

Jorginho was taken off towards the end of the Brighton game but Lampard had confirmed after the match that the Italian will be fit and available for selection this weekend for Chelsea.

Mateo Kovacic also returns from suspension and he could replace N’Golo Kante in midfield while Kai Havertz keeps his place in the starting line-up.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek got a start against Brighton but the England international could be benched for this weekend’s match as Callum Hudson-Odoi comes into the side.

Christian Pulisic is facing a race a against time against time in order to be fit but we don’t think the American will recover in time meaning Mason Mount should operate on the left flank.

Timo Werner also suffered a knock during the Premier League opener but the German has made it clear that he will be a 100 per cent fit for the clash vs Liverpool.
