Chelsea currently are struggling to build up momentum in the English Premier League but behind the scenes, the club is making some really good progress.
According to reports, Chelsea are planning to offer new deals to two of their players since they have been recognized as the favourites under Frank Lampard.
The first player is left-back Emerson who has played a key role for the Blues during the current season and is set to become a regular in that spot as the season rolls along.
Marcos Alonso was the first choice left-back last year but the Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order this campaign thanks to some fine performances from Emerson during the pre-season tour.
As per reports, ex-Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri is interested in signing Emerson for Juventus and the Serie A giants are expected to make a move next summer.
While the Italian still has two years left on his current deal but Chelsea want to tie him down to a new deal before the current season comes to an end.
The other player who will be getting a new deal at Stamford Bridge is youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.
But unlike Emerson, the contact talks for the England international is almost in the final stages and as per reports, he is on the verge of agreeing to a new £180,000-a-week five-year contract.
The winger had received heavy interest from Bayern Munich last year and at one point Hudson-Odoi had even handed in a transfer request in order to move to Germany.
Since then though a lot of things have changed especially with the player rupturing his Achilles tendon as a result of which Bayern have backed off.
So by the looks of it, Callum Hudson-Odoi is ready to commit his future to Chelsea while Emerson too should put pen on paper to a new deal given he has now become the first-choice left-back under Lampard.
