Chelsea have joined the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in the race to sign Ligue 1 striker Habib Diallo – as per reports.

Habib Diallo who is a Senegalese international has come up through the ranks at FC Metz and last season he was out on loan to Brest 29.

This season he is playing for the Metz first-team and has already netted 8 goals in 13 Ligue 1 matches for the club.

And with such a stellar goal-scoring record, a number of Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing the players and reports have suggested that Spurs, as well as Newcastle United, are interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Both Spurs, as well as NUFC, are badly in need of reinforcements and rumours suggest both these clubs will make a move for Habib Diallo during the January transfer window.

While everyone expected Spurs to win this transfer battle but now it seems the North London side might just have fallen down the pecking order since Chelsea too have joined the race to sign the forward.

Chelsea are expected to part ways with Olivier Giroud at the start of next year and it looks like Frank Lampard wants Habib Diallo as a replacement for the outgoing Frenchman.

As per the reports, Metz want around £10 million in order to sell-off Habib Diallo but with his contract expiring in 2022, we aren’t sure if the Ligue 1 side would be willing to let the forward leave in January.
