Jurgen Klopp left Borussia Dortmund back in 2015 after staying with the club for seven long years and that very same year he went on take charge of Premier League side, Liverpool.

The German left BVB, not in the best of shapes which is why many people had their doubts when the Anfield outfit chose to bring him in. But four years later, no one really has any suspicions over Jurgen Klopp and the impact which he has had at Liverpool.

Right now the Reds are the defending European champions and there is also a very big chance that they will be able to lift the Premier League trophy this season too.

But all this magic could have very easily happened at Manchester United since the Old Trafford outfit wanted to bring the German into the club shortly after Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

United were interested in making Jurgen Klopp their manager as soon as he left his job at Dortmund and the Red Devils reportedly also make contact with him.

But somehow the German chose to ignore the offer and join Liverpool instead a couple of months later.

And while everyone was confused as to why Klopp chose to reject a club like Manchester United, former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson has now revealed that it was actually the manager’s wife who advised him against it.

“I interviewed Klopp for Sky, and I asked if he and Liverpool were created for each other. He stared at me and asked ‘Why’? Then, Klopp told me he could have taken over Manchester United, but his wife said it wasn’t right,” Thompson said.

“When Liverpool came, his wife said it was right. There is something strange there, it is as if he’s created for Liverpool,

“In my time we always lost three to four games at this stage of the season, but this team leads by nine points and lost only one game last season.

“This season they have beaten everyone, except for a draw at Old Trafford. They are doing something great.”

Well, since Jurgen Klopp refused the job at Old Trafford, Man United have worked with a couple of managers but no one has really been able to bring back the glory days of the club.

But on the other hand, Jurgen Klopp might not have delivered too many trophies but right now Liverpool are one of the powerhouses in Europe and also possibly the best team in the subcontinent.
