Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC are currently seventh on the Scottish Premiership table picking up only a single win in their first four encounters.

But despite this average start to the new season, Rangers’ summer signing Kyle Lafferty believes that his team has what it takes with beat Celtic to the title at the end of the season.

Recently Lafferty had said that Steven Gerrard will turn out to be a great manager and the Light Blues can also beat the Celtic monopoly.

While the Gers fans are quite pleased with the optimism that Lafferty has shown but football pundit Chris Sutton is taking none of it.

Sutton has come out to slam the forward claiming that Kyle Lafferty should get his hopes back to the ground.

Chris Sutton said“It’s not exactly a surprise to see Lafferty is the one to open his mouth and let his belly rumble, and, sure enough, he heads back to Northern Ireland and can’t help himself when it comes to making wild claims,

“There’s nothing wrong with having belief, or even quiet confidence in the dressing room, but coming away with these comments in public only leave you wide open again,

“Had Steven Gerrard’s side won last week (against Celtic), got a draw or even put up some kind of contest, then you could argue he’d be entitled to the title talk.

“But they didn’t. They got hammered. Lafferty might be living in a fantasy land but back in the real world his side got their backsides kicked.”

After the international break, Rangers take on Dundee at home in the Premiership next Saturday immediately after which they fly to Spain in order to take on Villareal in the Europa League.
