Christian Eriksen had been tipped to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer transfer window with Real Madrid reportedly wanting to sign him.
At one point every major pundit was certain the Danish international will move out of London and head to Spain especially since Pochettino had gone on record to claim that he had no idea about the player’s current contract situation.
Ultimately though, Christian Eriksen failed to secure a move out of the club this summer which now means he has less than a year left on his current deal at Spurs.
Apart from Real Madrid, recent reports have revealed that Man United also tried to sign the playmaker after the previous season ended and Solskajer might come back for him during the January transfer window.
And Tim Sherwood feels with so many big clubs interested in signing him, Christian Eriksen is trying to run down his contract at the club.
“He’s running his contract down for a reason, and it wouldn’t be a money-motivated reason,” Sherwood told Sky Sports(as reported).
“Christian Eriksen wants to leave the football club because he wants to go to a club where he thinks he can win trophies.
“But I believe that’s a difficult task, to find a club better than Tottenham to win trophies right now.”

Christian Eriksen exit verdict:
The first priority for Daniel Levy will be too make Eriksen sign a new deal at the club before 2019 comes to an end.
And if he somehow fails to do that then it is no secret that clubs Man United and Real Madrid will give it all they have to sign the playmaker.
While Man United will be more than ready to splurge money to sign him in January but given the shrewd business Daniel Levy is, the last thing he would want is to sell Christian Eriksen to a direct rival.
But having said that, if the player refuses to sign a new deal then Spurs will have to accept whatever comes their way or risk losing him for free next summer.
