Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen during the summer transfer window.

But now it looks like Liverpool could beat them to the race.

United are on the verge of losing Paul Pogba(at the time of writing this article) and as per rumours, Solskjaer is planning to bring in Christian Eriksen as the long-term replacement for the Madrid bound man.

The Red Devils know for a fact that getting the Danish international will not be a walk in the park but recent reports have suggested that Daniel Levy is ready to part ways with the midfielder is someone pays the right amount.

And these rumours were further fueled when Eriksen himself claimed that he could be on his way out of the club during the summer.

“I feel that I am at a stage of my career where I would like to try something new,” Christian Eriksen told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet(as reported).

“I have the deepest respect for everything that is happening at Tottenham and it would not be something negative to stay.

“But I have also said that I would like to try something new. I hope that something will be decided this summer. That is the plan.

“In football, you never know when there could be a decision like that. It could be at any point.

“The best thing is always for it to happen quickly but in football things take time.”

Up until now Man United and Real Madrid were the only two teams who have been linked with Christian Eriksen but now some reports in England are claiming that Jurgen Klopp could also make a move for him.

Former Spurs man Jamie O’Hara has also predicted that Liverpool who are in need of a central midfielder could try and bring him onboard.

“[Liverpool] need a central midfield player,” ex-Spurs man Jamie O’Hara told Sky Sports News.

“I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that they might try and take Eriksen from Tottenham as he’s in the last year on his deal.

“He’s the type of player they need.”

If Liverpool are indeed interested in Christian Eriksen then it is really bad news for Man United since the 27-year-old will any day choose to play in the Champions League rather than the Europa League.

Having said all this, Spurs though have not yet given up hopes of keeping the midfielder as some reports have claimed that the Lilywhites are looking to offer a new and improved deal to Christian Eriksen.
