Chelsea are currently the frontrunners to sign Borussia Dortmund youngster Christian Pulisic – as per reports.

Christian Pulisic moving out of Germany has been a possibility for a couple of seasons now but it was earlier this week that these rumours have picked up rapid pace.

The media frenzy came after the American told the reporters about his dream of playing in the Premier League.

‘England, the Premier League, is where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why one day I won’t play here,’ Pulisic said before England’s match with the United States.

‘We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, that’s when those things will happen.’

And now various tabloids across England are claiming that Borussia Dortmund have finally decided to cash in on the 20-year-old after realizing that Christian Pulisic will not be signing a new contract at the club.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to accept a bid for the youngster and Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal are planning to make a move next summer.

But now reports are coming in that Chelsea are planning to make a swift move and want to sign the winger in January itself.

And this sudden haste from the Blues has two big reasons behind it.

The first one is obvious – to beat rivals like Liverpool and Arsenal to the signing of Christian Pulisic.

But the second and the most important reason is that Chelsea have come to realize that they can be slapped with a transfer ban anytime now and hence they want to wrap up Christian Pulisic’s transfer as early as possible.

It is still unclear whether Borussia Dortmund will accept a bid for Christian Pulisic during the middle of the season but some reports in Germany are of the view that if Chelsea are willing to meet the demands of BVB then the Bundesliga outfit have no hesitation in letting the winger leave.
