According to the latest reports, Chelsea have decided they are going to sell their 23-year-old midfielder, Conor Gallagher.

The Blues have already sold Kante, Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer while Jorginho was sent out to Arsenal back in January. Now, it looks like the London outfit is putting Gallagher up for sale with three big clubs interested in signing him.

West Ham United, Tottenham and Brighton are the three clubs who have been linked with a move for the England midfielder and all three teams have the capability of providing him with a great platform next season. Conor Gallagher has two years left on his Chelsea deal and his current market value is £28 million.

None of the interested clubs have made any official bids yet but the experts believe a fee of around £35 million will be enough to make Chelsea agree on a sale.

Which club has the best chance of signing Conor Gallagher?

In terms of money, West Ham United are best placed to sign the midfielder because they have just bagged £106 million from Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal so paying £35-40 million won’t be an issue for Moyes’ team.

Brighton are also planning to sell Moises Caicedo for around £100 million and they will only move for Conor Gallagher if Caicedo leaves this summer otherwise, there’s no need for the Seagulls to go after the Chelsea academy graduate.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is looking to add depth to his midfield before the new season begins but they already have central midfielders like Bentancur and Yves Bissouma so Gallagher will have to fight for his place in the starting XI if he decides to move to North London.

As things stand, the Hammers are the best placed to sign the Chelsea midfielder because they have the money and can also offer him regular playing time next season but Brighton played some really attractive football last campaign, finishing sixth on the table so if they enter this transfer race then David Moyes’ side will have lots to think about.

Should Chelsea sell the midfielder or hold onto him?

It’s being claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is fond of the England international but the club’s management has gone against their manager’s wishes by deciding to offload him in the summer.

If Conor Gallagher exits Pochettino will be left with Enzo Fernandez as his only central midfielder but Chelsea are trying hard to bring in someone like Moises Caicedo so the new manager has very little room to complain. The Blues have also been linked with Madrid’s Federico Valverde as some rumours claim that they are planning to make a move for the South American.

Gallagher has been with Chelsea since he was eight years old but the midfielder has failed to assert his dominance for the senior team. Last season, he started 18 Premier League games but most of his performances were very underwhelming. Apart from central midfield, he was used in several other roles, including as a forward but he failed to impress in either of these roles. Honestly, losing him won’t be a massive loss, especially if they can bring in someone like Caicedo in the coming weeks.
