Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus during the summer transfer window and within months of the transfer, the fate of both the clubs have transformed.

While Juventus’ market value has skyrocketed, Real Madrid are in complete chaos.

Cristiano Ronaldo has maintained his goalscoring form with the Old Lady while Real Madrid has made their worst start to the La Liga in recent times – so much so that the club have sacked their manager Julen Lopetegui.

But the Portuguese superstar might miss out on a coveted prize despite having a wonderful previous season.

We are talking about the 2018 Ballon d’Or.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed out on the FIFA Best player award losing to former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric and the bookmakers are confident that the Croatian will lift the Ballon d’Or too.

And now speaking about his competition for the coveted prize, Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about the players who will challenge him for the Ballon d’Or.

“The rivals? The same as usual, although I do not know if Messi will be on the podium this time,” Ronaldo said.

“So let’s say, Salah, Modric, Griezmann, Varane, Mbappe, and the French in general because they are world champions.”

Liverpool’s Mo Salah, Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo were the final three shortlist for the FIFA Best award a couple of months back and many feel that things will not change too much for the 2018 Ballon d’Or.
