Arsenal last week were linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos as the Gunners are actively looking for a replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

Ceballos joined Real Madrid back in 2017 from Real Betis and back then the Bernabeu outfit had so much faith on the player’s talent that they decided to add a £450 million transfer clause in his contract – reportedly.

But now, Real are willing to let him leave for a transfer fee of around £45 million which has drawn in attention from a number of Premier League clubs.

London outfits Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United were said to be interested in signing Dani Ceballos and it was Pochettino’s side who were considered the most likely destination for the midfielder.

A couple of days ago, it was reported that AC Milan had also held talks with Real Madrid over the transfer of the midfielder but still major publications in Spain suggested that the player will likely join a Premier League club.

And last week it was claimed that Arsenal too had joined the race to sign the midfielder as a long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

Now it seems the Gunners have beaten their North London rivals to the signing of Dani Ceballos as the latest gossip in Spain suggest are suggesting that the Gunners are willing to pay the demanded £45 million for the player.

As per TEAMtalk, “According to AS, Spurs have shown a firm interest in signing the attacking midfielder and have already held talks with Madrid.

“However, the report goes on to add that the Gunners are more willing to meet Madrid’s €50m (£45m) asking price – which could see the playmaker snub Tottenham and move to the Emirates.”

It’s no secret that Arsenal have to bring in a replacement for Aaron Ramsey and Dani Ceballos at £45 million seems to be the perfect fit.

The Gunners are planning to offload Lucas Torreira as he wants to head back to Italy and if that deal does go through then paying £45 million for the Real Madrid man will not be an issue for Unai Emery.

But Spurs still have the Champions League card up their sleeves but first, they have to be willing to pay the hefty transfer fee.
