Rangers winger Daniel Candeias looks to be the next player to move out of the club this summer – as per the manager.
Daniel Candeias featured in 28 Premiership games for Rangers last season scoring 5 goals and making 5 assists. But with the arrival of Sheyi Ojo this summer, the 31-year-old is bound to fall down the pecking order next season.
As a result of this, the winger has told Steven Gerrard about his desire to move out during the current transfer window.
And the Gers manager has confirmed that Daniel Candeias has sought permission to talk to a Turkish club.
Gerrard said: “I had a conversation on Wednesday with Daniel and he said he wanted to go and speak to a team in Turkey. We’ve had an approach and we had a real adult conversation.
“I said I wanted him to stay and fight for the shirt and be part of the squad but he said he wants to go and explore the situation in Turkey so we reluctantly but respectfully granted him permission.
“He’s a good man and been a good servant so we’ll see how that one develops.
“I have to respect Daniel and keep a lot of the conversation private but it boils down to him wanting to be a regular starter.”
After this statement, there have been numerous reports linking Daniel Candeias to every possible Turkish club.
But as per the major publications, the winger is likely to join Gençlerbirliği Ankara.
Gençlerbirliği play in the Super Lig which is the first tier of Turkish football and last season they gained promotion to the top tier after finishing second in the TFF First League.
Gençlerbirliği are obviously looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and multiple reports claim that Daniel Candeias will most probably be joining this newly promoted side.
