Daniel Sturridge was released by Liverpool at the end of the 2018-19 season and the Englishman might be playing in Italy next season.
The forward managed to feature in just 18 Premier League games last season and Jurgen Klopp decided that he was of no further use to the club.
But it looks like Daniel Sturridge has no shortage of takers with the likes of Aston Villa and Rangers FC both being linked to the 29-year-old ever since he became a free agent.
Some rumours claimed that Steven Gerrard was eager to bring his former teammate on board and that Sturridge could very well accept the offer.
But others claimed that he wanted to join Aston Villa in order to keep playing in the English Premier League next campaign.
Now though, it looks like he could scrap everything and head to the Serie A as Bologna have shown an interest in signing him.
The Express reports: “The former England hitman has spent the summer in America while he plans his next move after being shown the door by Jurgen Klopp.
“Sturridge has been linked with moves to Premier League new boys Aston Villa as well as Scottish giants Rangers.
“But he could get his career back on track with a move to Serie A where Bologna have asked about his future plans.
“The only sticking point to a potential move to Italy would be his wage demands as he was earning around £120,000 a week before leaving Anfield.”
The wages of Daniel Sturridge is not only a problem for Bologna but also for Rangers since the Premiership club too cannot afford to pay him the same amount which he was earning at Liverpool.
So it is more or less clear that no matter which club the striker chooses to join, he will most certainly have to take a hefty pay cut.
