Arsenal made a dismal start to the 2019-20 season under their former manager Unai Emery but eventually, the Gunners got rid of him in the month of December and brought in Mikel Arteta to replace him.

And under the former Man City coach, Arsenal have increased in leaps and bounds, maybe not in the table position and definitely in terms of performances.

Recently Unai Emery had claimed that he was shown the door at Arsenal because his senior players did not do enough to fulfil his plans.

And now while replying to these comments, defender David Luiz has said that Emery was a great coach but at the same time has claimed that the Gunners are improving under the leadership of their new boss.

He said via Metro: ‘I think he was a great, great guy, great coach. In football, we need results, if the results aren’t coming everybody is going to try to find out why.

‘I think he has his vision and we have to accept that in a nice way and in a humble way.

‘I think we are doing things every single week in a positive way, we are improving.

‘Then, in the end, we start to get some results and we start to think about the table, start to think we still have the possibility and then we try until the end to do our best in the season.

‘I am happy with the team, I am happy with how we are understanding better what Mikel wants from us every week. We are improving as a team.’
