Man United are expected to part ways with midfielder Paul Pogba and according to talkSPORT, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be eyeing Declan Rice as a replacement.

Declan Rice is currently one of the most sought-after defensive midfielders in the Premier League and London side Chelsea have already tried to sign him last summer.

Lampard was ready to pay a massive sum for the England international but somehow, West Ham United managed to hold onto him for one more season.

Now, Manchester United have also joined the race to sign the 21-year-old at the end of the 2020-21 season and if Juventus agree to pay a handsome amount for Paul Pogba then finances should not be a major headache for Ole.

As per reports, West Ham want around £85 million for the sale of Declan Rice and once the Pogba deal happens, Man United can easily match Chelsea in this transfer race.

This though does not solve all the problems for Ole Solskjaer since talkSPORT are also claiming that Declan Rice is more inclined towards joining Chelsea instead of any other club.

Rice played for the Chelsea youth side up until 2013 and in the past, he’s hinted at wanting to return to the Bridge when he leaves West Ham United.

So, if Man United are serious about signing the defensive midfielder next summer then they have to major options.

Either they outbid Chelsea and pay an amount which tips the transfer completely in their favour or they try and convince Declan Rice that his future can take a better shape at Old Trafford instead of Stamford Bridge.
