West Ham United have had a really mixed season so far but one player who has always been on top of his game is midfielder Declan Rice.

Declan Rice has come up through the ranks with the Hammers and recently he committed his future to the club by signing a new deal.

In this current campaign, the youngster has been one of the first names on Manuel Pellegrini’s team sheet but there is a buzz that the midfielder could be on his way out during the summer.

The fine performances from the 20-year-old has grabbed the attention of many top English clubs and rumours have it that both Manchester United and Manchester City want to sign him at the end of the season.

But speaking about his future, Declan Rice has claimed that right now he is only focused on playing for West Ham.

“I’m happy. I’m playing week in week out. I have a special connection with the fans. It’s unbelievable [the London Stadium],” he told BT Sport(as reported by MEN)

“I love every minute of being at West Ham

“Being compared to players, being linked to other teams, I don’t really take any of it in, to be honest. If you think about it too much you get caught up in it.

“I’m only 20, you’ve got your whole career ahead of you. I’m just focused on playing for West Ham and playing with a smile on my face and enjoying it.”

During the 2018-19 season, Declan Rice has played in 29 Premier League games for West Ham United and right now he is easily one of the finest young talents in the whole of England.

It just remains to be seen how long will the Hammers be able to hold onto this young prodigy.
