Real Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he and Eden Hazard would talk about playing at the Bernabeu even when they were in England, playing for Chelsea.

The keeper left England to join Madrid in the summer of 2018 while Eden Hazard followed him to Spain only a year later for a mouth-watering fee of €100 million.

And speaking about their dreams, Courtois has revealed that he along with Eden Hazard would discuss playing for the Los Blancos.

“In the Chelsea dressing room, we were talking about the possibility of playing here,” Courtois told El Mundo, as reported by Daily Mail.

“‘The White House, the White House…’, we said.

“It was nice to speculate about it. Now, we are very eager to win trophies.”

Did Courtois lure Eden Hazard out of Chelsea?

Surely, Florentino Perez would have asked Courtois about Eden Hazard before making a move for him last year but the Belgian had been on Real Madrid’s wishlist for a number of seasons now.

Some Chelsea fans though think their former keeper might have played a really important role in helping Eden Hazard choose his next destination.

The Blues might have received huge sums of money in exchange for the Belgian but in January, Lampard admitted that the club have failed to fill in the void left behind by the 29-year-old.

Lampard told BT Sport: “We lost certainly one of the biggest players in our history and one of the most effective and dominant players in terms of what he did. That is the situation.

“My job is to work every day on the training ground to make the players better and the other part for the club is how we move forward by bringing in players.

“We lost ground last summer, so we need to, for the short-term, push for this top four finish because I have a strong feeling where we can improve personnel-wise to take us forward. For me it’s clear.”

So which it cannot be confirmed if Courtois helped Eden Hazard make up his mind or not. But one thing’s for sure, not a lot of players will need added motivation in order to join a club like Real Madrid.
