Arsenal went down 1-0 to Sheffield United in the Premier League on Monday which means the Gunners have now dropped out of the top-four.

The Blades took the lead in the 30th minute of the match and were able to hold onto this slender lead despite the Gunners ramping up the heat towards the end of the match.

But while the Arsenal players had full control of the match(especially in the second half), they did not cause much trouble for Henderson and in the end, it was pretty clear that Unai Emery was a bit clueless.

The manager surprisingly chose to take on Nicholas Pepe and bring on young Gabriel Martinelli which was something that shocked many people.

It was pretty evident that the manager missed the creative spark needed to carve open the Blades and immediately everyone started asking as to why Mesut Ozil was left out of the squad.

The Arsenal manager was asked after the match whether he is still figuring out his best XI at the club to which he told(as quoted by the club’s official website):

“Really, my point of view tonight is that there are things to analyse and improve. Defensively at the beginning of the match they pushed and we didn’t stop them.

“We didn’t concede a lot of chances, but they had corners offensively and they can score from these corners.

“We had more than them, but we know they are a strong team in that situation and they use it to win matches.

“In other situations throughout the 90 minutes, I think we controlled it in moments to create more chants.

“We didn’t score tonight, but if we played another match like tonight, I think it’s more easy to achieve the points.”

Mesut Ozil did not even make it to the Arsenal squad at Bramall Lane when he clearly was the type of player who had the capability of making that one critical pass.

And this is why many people feel Unai Emery still needs to tinker around with all his players instead of having a streamlined mindset.
