Manchester United take on Chelsea in the semi-final fo the FA Cup on Sunday and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clearly frustrated with the scheduling of the match.

Chelsea played Norwich City on Tuesday night whereas Man United play Crystal Palace on Thursday meaning the Blues have gotten 48 hours more to prepare for the semi-final.

And speaking about this disparity in preparation time, Solskjaer has claimed that Chelsea have been handed an undue advantage before this high-profile clash.

“There is a concern, obviously, that they [Chelsea] will have had 48 hours’ more rest and recovery than us. It’s not fair,” the United manager said, as per the Independent.

“We spoke about a fair scheduling going into this restart and, of course, it isn’t. But I have to think about Thursday, winning that one [against Palace], focusing on that one, and then pick up the pieces.

“It’s not going to be a problem and a concern for us, but 24 hours, 48 hours is a big difference at this time [of the season] so we’ve not been handed four aces, to put it that way, for the last two weeks,

“But we’re going to have to put on a poker face and play the cards well. The next two weeks will be hectic but we’re very fit – our lads have not felt as fit as this for years.”

Chelsea have not beaten Manchester United in their last five outings so clearly that will be playing at the back of the mind of Frank Lampard. But at this point in time, even a few more hours of rest could prove to be a huge difference-maker for the Blues.

The London side have suffered two losses in their last five matches but Man United are yet to taste defeat since the resumption of the 2019-20 season and if Pogba and Bruno Fernandes can link up then these two days of extra rest will mean nothing for Lampard’s men.
