West Ham United have taken a huge step towards signing Felipe Anderson from Lazio – according to reports.

The Hammers have been in the chase of the midfielder for some time now and it finally looks like the 25-year-old will become a West Ham player by the end of this weekend.

According to reports, Felipe Anderson has passed a medical at West Ham United.

Anderson joined Lazio from Santos in 2013 and has since scored 34 goals in 177 appearances.

And West Ham are reportedly paying £35 million for the services of the midfielder and he will become the seventh signing for new boss Manuel Pellegrini after the arrivals of Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop.

West Ham have recently signed Jack Wilshere from Arsenal and the acquisition of Felipe Anderson will certainly become another feather in the cap of Pellegrini.

This deal was supposed to be wrapped up weeks ago but both the teams failed to agree on a transfer price with Lazio holding out for £40 million while the London outfit was not ready to pay more than £25 million for the midfielder’s services.

Now though it seems that West Ham have caved in and given up to Lazio demands by agreeing to pay £35 million – which could go up to £42 million after add-ons.

The report suggests the medical has been successfully completed and Felipe Anderson’s signing will be made official in the coming 48 to 72 hours.
