Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is currently recovering from an ankle injury meaning he will not be available when the Blues host PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday.

And reports suggest the Belgium international might also miss the Premier League encounter against Fulham on Sunday.

But speaking earlier this week, Eden Hazard has revealed what Chelsea aim to do by the end of the season.

And beating Manchester City to the title race is not one of them.

“We’re thinking about finishing in the top four, not to be the champions,” Eden Hazard said.

“We know City are not much better than Chelsea but they are better at the moment.

“In what areas are City better? A lot. Possession. When they have chances, they score.

“Maybe defensively they are better. They have top players.

“Their consistency as well, winning game after game. They are in a good momentum since last year and we need to be back like this.”

The Chelsea fans might not be happy with Eden Hazard’s negative attitude but the harsh reality is that after the 3-1 loss to Spurs last weekend, the Blues are now seven points behind league leaders Manchester City.

And to claw back that gap will need some really hard work.

At the start of the season, Maurizio Sarri’s first big goal was to bring back Chelsea to the Champions League and come May if the Italian manages to do that then it will most certainly be a good season for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
