Manchester City suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Newcastle United this midweek but thankfully that loss has not cost them heavily.
Liverpool had the chance of going seven points clear at the top of the table but they drew their game vs Leicester City meaning City are now five points behind the Reds.
And next up, Pep Guardiola’s men will welcome Arsenal at home in the Premier League this weekend.
The Gunners won their respective game during midweek but the match vs City will be a totally different ballgame.
City will come at Arsenal will all the might they have but as things stand, Pep Guardiola might have a big problem.
Goalkeeper Ederson Moraes picked up a knee injury against the Magpies and could be an absentee when City welcome Arsenal at home.
Ederson picked up a cut on his leg just before Man City had given away a penalty vs Newcastle and Guardiola wanted to take him off immediately.
But with the match at such a crucial stage, Ederson chose to stay on for the rest of the match.
And now it seems that the bravery of Ederson could cost the Citizens even more.
Reports are suggesting that the keeper is recovering quickly but Sunday’s game might just be too early for him to make a comeback.
And if Ederson is unavailable then it would be a big headache for the Man City manager.
City’s backup keeper Claudio Bravo is also out with an achilles injury meaning the only keeper that is fit right now is 20-year-old Aro Muric.
Playing against a team which has the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette, the City boss will surely not want to place Muric in between the sticks but if Ederson cannot make himself fit then Guardiola might have no other option.
