Arsenal brought in Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona during the January transfer window on a six-month loan spell.

Emery had been hopeful that the player could turn out to be a key part of his squad since the manager had already worked with him during their time at Sevilla.

In fact, the Spanish boss was so confident about Denis Suarez that he even opted for an option to buy in the loan deal.

But eventually, Denis Suarez turned out to be one of the worst signings for the Gunners in recent years.

During his time at the Emirates, the midfielder managed to play in only four Premier League games being on the pitch for a total of just 67 minutes.

Denis Suarez eventually picked up a groin injury some time back which is why he had to cut his loan spell short and return back to Barcelona.

While some fans are upset with such a bad transfer decision from Emery but they will be even angrier when they will find out that just a year before the loan deal, Arsenal had rejected to sign Denis Suarez – reported exclusively by Football London.

During the 2017/18 season, Denis Suarez was offered to a number of Premier League clubs for a six-month loan spell and amongst then were Arsenal.

But Wenger along with his coaching staff eventually chose to decline the offer fearing that the midfielder would not be able to cope up with the Premier League especially on a short-term basis.

Then this January, Emery had gone ahead and made the exact same blunder eventually sending a couple of million down the drain.

Now though, the Gunners seemed to have learnt from their mistake as they will not be activating the purchase clause for Denis Suarez during the summer transfer window.
